Privacy Policy

RankResults is an AI visibility checker operated by Peter Drew. This page explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and how to have your data removed. We keep what we hold to what the product needs to work.

What we collect

• Your Google account basics when you sign in: your name, email address and profile picture. That is all we receive from Google (see below).
• What you ask us to check: your search terms, the names and websites you want found, competitors, and the location you pick.
• The results we fetch for you: the AI answers, the pages they cite, Google results, screenshots of the answers, search volumes, and the PDF reports you generate.
• Usage and credits: which checks you ran, the credits they used, and what they cost us, so we can run the free trial fairly and stop abuse.
• Where you came from: if you arrive through a link carrying a ?ref= or utm_ tag (for example a shared result on LinkedIn), we note that tag against your signup.
• Share page visits: we count visits to public share pages by the site they came from (for example “LinkedIn 3”). We don’t store IP addresses or anything else about the visitor.

What we request from Google, and what we don’t

“Sign in with Google” asks only for three standard, non-sensitive permissions: openid, email and profile. That gives us your email address, name and profile picture, and we use them only to sign you in and identify your account.

We do not request, receive or have any way to access your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google service or data. We don’t ask for offline access, so we hold no Google token and can’t do anything with your Google account when you’re not using RankResults. You can remove our access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

How we use it

• To run the checks you ask for and show you the results, your history and your credit balance.
• To run the free trial fairly: one trial per Google account, with limits that stop anyone draining the service.
• To send you occasional emails about RankResults and our related products (RankScore, RankFusion). Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.
• To understand which of our posts and ads bring people in (the ref/utm tags, and the Meta Pixel below).

We do not sell your data, and we don’t share it with advertisers.

Every result has its own share link

Each check you run gets its own long, unguessable link, and it’s the address you see in your browser for that result, so you can share it just by copying it. Anyone who has the link can see a public version of the result without signing in; nobody can find it by guessing, and old numbered addresses never show a result to anyone but you. New result links aren’t offered to search engines: that only happens if you switch on “Let search engines find this page” (links you made in the Share panel before then may already have it on). You decide what the public version shows (your business name, your search terms, the map), you can make any result private so only you can open it, and you can turn a link off completely; a private or turned-off link stops working for everyone else straight away.

AI answers vary

AI answers are generated fresh each time, so the same question can get a different answer at a different time, from a different place, or for a different person. Our results record what each AI answered when and where we asked; they are a record of that moment, not a promise about what anyone else will see.

Who else handles your data

We use a small number of established providers, each receiving only what it needs:

• Trusted third-party service providers retrieve the search and AI results: they receive your search terms and chosen location (never your name or email) and return the AI answers and Google results.
• Google for sign-in.
• A mapping service turns your chosen location into the map on share cards (the map carries its required credit).
• AWeber holds our mailing list (your email, name and where you signed up from).
• Meta (Facebook): our pages use the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta when someone visits or signs up, so we can measure our ads. Meta may use cookies for this; you can control ad tracking in your Facebook and browser settings.
• An email delivery service sends your alerts, digests and report emails (to you and to any extra recipients you add).
• Telegram, only if you connect it: we store your chat id to send alerts there. Send /stop in the chat, or disconnect on your account page, to remove it.
• Railway and Cloudflare host the site and deliver it.

Cookies

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you signed in (30 days), and a cookie that remembers which link brought you here (30 days). The Meta Pixel may set its own cookies. We don’t use any other tracking.

Credits and payments

New accounts get free trial credits. We record every credit you use. We don’t take payments yet; when we do, the payment provider will handle your card details and we will never see or store them.

How long we keep it

The free plan includes 5 days of stored results: projects, checks and history are kept for 5 days after signup and then deleted, unless you become a member (public share pages you made are kept so your links keep working). As a member, your account, projects and results stay until you delete them or ask us to. Deleting a project removes it from your account and turns off its share links immediately. We keep an internal record of the checks that were run, and what they cost, for billing and abuse prevention; ask us and we’ll erase your whole account, including that record.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any email, delete projects yourself, remove our Google access at the link above, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it. For any of that, contact us at petesupport.com.

Children

RankResults is a business tool and isn’t meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
